COMPETITIVE OVERVIEW
The Colorado Rush Competitive Division caters to players eager to elevate their soccer skills and strategic understanding. Under the expertise of our professional coaching staff, this program serves as an ideal setting for athletes committed to the sport.
Teams train rigorously twice per week, focusing on refining essential skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting, and incorporating them into our tactical team play. This training not only advances individual talents but also instills the Rush Style of Play, which merges personal skills with team strategies for holistic development.
For U13-U14 players, Colorado Rush offers three developmental pathways:
- Recreational: Suited for players who enjoy soccer at a level compatible with their team’s ability.
- Competitive: Geared towards players who aspire to progress to more competitive levels.
- Elite: The highest level, with selections made during Talent ID Days. Boys Elite teams participate in the ECNL RL, and Girls Elite teams compete in both the ECNL and ECNL RL.

Tryout Process
Formal Tryouts
Every year, Colorado Rush holds formal tryouts from late May to early June. The tryouts are primarily aimed at new players, U11 players, and current competitive Rush players looking to switch teams. While we do our best to measure an athletes technical and tactical abilities along with their physical and psychological attributes we recognize a tryout period does not allow us to fully rate players accurately. For these reasons, existing players will be observed throughout the entire year by their team Head Coach and Director of Coaching (DOC) at training sessions and games. They will then be consequently placed more accurately within the Colorado Rush system.
Year-Round opportunities
Players interested in joining our competitive teams don't have to wait for formal tryouts. We offer opportunities to trial with a team throughout the year. This allows potential new members to demonstrate their skills and find the right team fit outside the traditional tryout schedule.
By providing both structured and flexible entry points into our competitive program, Colorado Rush ensures that all players have the chance to join and excel in an environment that matches their soccer ambitions and skills.
If you're interested in joining Colorado Rush, don't wait! Please contact the Program Director and we will respond within 24/48 hours. Girls - Una Einarsdottir | Boys - Mark Hiemenz
