U11-U12 Player Pathway
As players advance through the U11-U12 program, they receive focused training aimed at improving tactical understanding and technical skills, preparing them for progression into higher levels of competition. The program is committed to embedding Colorado Rush's core values into every aspect of development, ensuring players not only grow in skill but also in character. The divisions range from Recreational to Elite, depending on the competitive level of the teams.
Colorado Rush North offers three developmental pathways for the U11-U12 age group:
- Recreational is tailored for players interested in enjoying the game without the pressure of high competition, these teams are placed in divisions that reflect the team's overall ability.
- Competitive teams are designed for players aiming to enhance their soccer skills and compete at higher levels, focusing on preparing them for future competitive play. These teams are formed during tryout sessions and are coached by Colorado Rush staff.
- Elite is the highest tier of the U11-U12 soccer program at Colorado Rush. These teams are formed during the annual kickarounds sessions each May and are coached by, licensed professionals from the Colorado Rush staff, emphasizing advanced development and competitive play. Players not selected for Elite teams will join Competitive level teams within their age group.
Tryout Process
Formal Tryouts
Every year, Colorado Rush North holds formal tryouts from late May to early June. The tryouts are primarily aimed at new players, and current competitive Rush players looking to switch teams. While we do our best to measure an athletes technical and tactical abilities along with their physical and psychological attributes we recognize a tryout period does not allow us to fully rate players accurately. For these reasons, existing players will be observed throughout the entire year by their team Head Coach and Director of Coaching (DOC) at training sessions and games. They will then be consequently placed more accurately within the Colorado Rush system.
Year-Round opportunities
Players interested in joining our competitive teams don't have to wait for formal tryouts. We offer opportunities to trial with a team throughout the year. This allows potential new members to demonstrate their skills and find the right team fit outside the traditional tryout schedule.
By providing both structured and flexible entry points into our competitive program, Colorado Rush ensures that all players have the chance to join and excel in an environment that matches their soccer ambitions and skills.
