COMPETITIVE OVERVIEW
The Colorado Rush Competitive Division is tailored for players committed to elevating their soccer skills and understanding. Guided by our expert coaching staff, this program offers a rigorous environment for athletes dedicated to the sport.
Our teams participate in bi-weekly training sessions that hone technical skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting, and incorporate these skills into strategic team play. Beyond individual skill development, our program promotes the Rush Style of Play, blending personal abilities with team tactics to enhance both individual performance and team dynamics.
For U13-U14 players, Colorado Rush provides three developmental pathways:
- Recreational: For players seeking enjoyable play at a level that matches team ability.
- Competitive: For players aiming to advance and prepare for higher-level competitive play.
- Elite: Our top tier, with placement determined during Talent ID Days. Boys Elite teams compete in the ECNL RL, while Girls Elite teams participate in the ECNL and ECNL RL.
Tryout Process
Formal Tryouts
Every year, Colorado Rush holds formal tryouts from late May to early June. The tryouts are primarily aimed at new players, U11 players, and current competitive Rush players looking to switch teams. While we do our best to measure an athletes technical and tactical abilities along with their physical and psychological attributes we recognize a tryout period does not allow us to fully rate players accurately. For these reasons, existing players will be observed throughout the entire year by their team Head Coach and Director of Coaching (DOC) at training sessions and games. They will then be consequently placed more accurately within the Colorado Rush system.
Year-Round opportunities
Players interested in joining our competitive teams don't have to wait for formal tryouts. We offer opportunities to trial with a team throughout the year. This allows potential new members to demonstrate their skills and find the right team fit outside the traditional tryout schedule.
By providing both structured and flexible entry points into our competitive program, Colorado Rush ensures that all players have the chance to join and excel in an environment that matches their soccer ambitions and skills.

Boys competitive Soccer
Our competitive boys soccer teams compete in the Colorado Soccer Association League, also known as CSA. There are three different levels to our boys competitive program. Each team trains twice per week and will have games on Saturdays and/or Sundays.
