become a referee

Register Now

The job of the referee in a soccer game is to facilitate fair game play and to moderate games within the rules of CSA and Mountain Rush are critical to our success.

The process to become a referee is threefold:

  1. First, you will learn the 17 laws of soccer and complete a concussion awareness video.
  2. Second, you’ll complete online modules and a test covering the content you’ve learned.
  3. Third, you will attend a Referee Field Session with a minimum of 5 hours of participation.

We welcome new and returning referees and we encourage everyone to learn more about the “Laws of the Game” to help us all be better informed parents, coaches, players, and volunteers. Additional information available through Play the Whistle.

Incentive Program

For our U8-U10 Intermediate Academy program and our Advanced Program (U11-U18) we offer two incentives to help encourage new referees to come up to Evergreen and retain our core of senior referees.

  • Referees who are HS age and older who center 5 full matches receive a bonus of $50. These are paid out at the end of each season.
  • Referees HS age or older who drive more than 20 miles one way receive a $5 mileage stipend for each game.
