Although Colorado Rush North will complete Tryouts / Player placements for the Fall 2025/Spring 2026 season, after Memorial Day (May 27th-30th) we are always on the lookout for talented players who may be a great fit for our teams. If you believe you have the skills and drive to be part of our programming, we want to hear from you! Reach out today to explore additional training sessions or opportunities to get in front of our coaches.

If your talent and our team needs align, we’ll work to find the right spot for you in our program. Whether it’s through additional training sessions, 1-on-1 evaluations, Tryouts, or something else, we’re here to help you grow and succeed.

Player Tryouts: Why They Matter

  • Who should attend tryouts?

    • New Players not currently registered with Colorado Rush.
    • All Current CO Rush Players must attend the designated tryout times, as it is the final step in their evaluation process.
  • What is your evaluation criteria?

During tryouts, our coaching staff focuses on a range of attributes to determine each player’s suitability for different teams within the Colorado Rush framework. Here’s what we look for:

    • Technical Abilities: Skills with the ball, including dribbling, passing, and shooting.
    • Tactical Understanding: Awareness of game strategy, positioning, and decision-making on the field.
    • Physical Attributes: General fitness, speed, agility, and endurance.

Psychological Factors: Mental toughness, attitude, teamwork, and the ability to handle pressure and adversity.

  • What if I can't make tryouts?

Interested in joining Colorado Rush but missed the tryouts? No problem! We offer open training opportunities where players can join practice sessions with existing teams. This allows both the coaches and you to assess the best fit for your developmental needs before committing to a team.

  • Do you have open training opportunities?

Any player who is interested in joining the Colorado Rush Competitive division can do so at anytime! There is no need to wait until tryouts. Players are invited to train with a Colorado Rush team in their respective age group to determine the best developmental placement for them.  Please complete the interest form at the bottom of this page if you are interested in an open training opportunity.

  • What about U9-U10 players?

U9-U10 players are placed on teams at our seasonal Kickarounds, based upon current and potential skill level. Rush Coaches will evaluate players and organize teams by age, gender, and skill level.

Are you an elite player?

Boys & GIRLS Elite Talent I.D. Days

Talent ID Days at the Colorado Rush Academy serve as specialized events similar to traditional tryouts, designed specifically to assess the skills and potential of young soccer players. These events are essential for our coaches to evaluate new talent and decide who will best fit into our competitive teams, particularly within the elite structures of the EAL & DPL
