Volunteer Roles

Coach

Every team is required to provide a volunteer coach to coach the team for the season. This person is almost always a parent of a player on the team. The coach will be provided with a Rush Curriculum Handbook and a Coach’s Equipment Kit. Our professional Rush Staff will help support each coach through mentorship and our Coaching Resources, so even if you are new to the game, you will have an enjoyable season.

  • Communicate efficiently with team

  • Determine team’s practice schedule

  • Lead team in training sessions (1/week) and on game days (1/weekend)

  • Responsible for finding a sub if ever absent for any training sessions or games

  • Attend pre-season meeting

Team Manager

This role is very important to help our teams have a successful season! We ask that each team provide a team manager for the season to help with communication and organization.

  • Work with coach to help communicate with the team about the team’s schedule

  • Set up game day snack rotation

  • Set up pictures with club photographer

  • Set up end-of-season party

The Rush Way

The Rush Way is the embodiment of all that is Rush Soccer. This not only entails what we do and how we do it, but the culture and standard that defines who we are as a Club. The rules and manner in which Rush members hold themselves and how they expect other Rush members to conduct themselves. The Rush Way encourages passion, leadership, respect and, above all, quality. This standard is evident in how the administrative organization is handled, the way our coaches instruct their players, and how our players and parents conduct themselves on and off the field. The Rush Way provides a system that supports the most efficient development of our players from the time they join the Club to the time they graduate.

The Rush Core Values are an integral aspect of our club. They provide the foundation for our culture. Players, coaches, and staff are asked to learn and live the Core Values to help them become better players and better people. They consist of: accountability, advice, empathy, enjoyment, humility, leadership, passion, respect, safety, tenacity and unity. These 11 values form our character on and off the field.

The Rush Way to Play is based upon movement and activity by both player and ball.  Possession-oriented does not fully describe how we play; attack-oriented does.  Whether in possession or in defense, we are attacking. Rush Players play with freedom yet understand the importance of responsibility and the balance between the two. Rush teams are flexible and adapt to varying circumstances. The Rush Way to Play represents both passion and purpose.

Our Club mantra is: “Where the trails of passion and purpose meet, begins the path to victory”

REACH Uniform Collection

In June of 2010, the R.E.A.C.H. program implemented its first coordinated and comprehensive used uniform collection program in an effort to greatly scale-up the number of uniforms distributed around the world. The Rush registers over 37,000 soccer players of which approximately 12,000 are in the “travel” program.  That equates to roughly 6,000 competitive girl soccer players and 6,000 competitive boy soccer players.  Because of our partnership with adidas and Soccer.com, “travel” soccer players are required to purchase new kits (two jerseys, two shorts, and two socks) every two years.

When the new uniform is ordered and distributed to the players, the player has the option to bring in his/her used uniform kit.  We will collect approximately 4,500 used uniform kits. Over ten years, that table represents 45,000 uniforms distributed throughout the world!

The impact both from a humanitarian side and marketing side is staggering.  This does not include additional pieces of soccer equipment such as balls, shin guards, warm up jackets and pants, etc. estimated at 300,000 pieces.  If handled properly, the 45,000 target could easily be tripled for a total of 135,000 uniforms distributed to children.
