U9-U10 Recreational League (8-9 Year Olds)

U9-U10 Programs continue to build upon the Rush Way developmental pathway started in Rush Beginnings and the U6-U8 program. Programming for these age groups covers a broad spectrum of players, from the beginner to the pre-competitive leagues.

  • Teams play 7 versus 7, including a goalkeeper

  • Teams typically consist of 9-11 players

  • Practice is held 2 times/week

  • All Saturday games are played in the CSA Front Range League

  • Teams play 10 games throughout the 10-11 week season

The Recreational program is a beginner program for players wishing to continue the pathway of the U6-U8 Recreational program. These teams are coached by parent volunteer coaches. Volunteer coaches will follow the Rush Curriculum Handbook provided by Rush Staff for the training sessions throughout the season. Practice is held twice a week for 60 minutes at a convenient local location. Rush Hour Training is an additional training option for players in this age group that are trying to improve their technical ability and confidence on the ball.

Intermediate Academy

The Intermediate Academy is a program for U9 and U10 players to prepare for the competitive soccer transition. This program is part of the club's pathway for players looking to advance in their development. The Intermediate players develop under the supervision of a paid, experienced and professional coaching staff, and experience a taste of the competitive nature that comes along with competitive soccer. Training is held three days a week- one day of staff training, one day of team training, and School of Excellence (included in the registration fee). Teams will play in at least one tournament during each season and are provided many opportunities for player development and growth. These teams will play against other clubs. Teams will play half of the season at the home fields and half of the season away. Most games are played in the Metro area, but away games could be as far as Ft. Collins or the Colorado Springs area. Team rosters are subject to change throughout the duration of the season, and players will experience higher level and more advanced coaching within the program. Player placement for this program is determined through a combination of player evaluation throughout the season by Rush Staff Coaches, as well as the Intermediate Kick-arounds held prior to each season. The Rush Way

The Rush Way is the embodiment of all that is Rush Soccer. This not only entails what we do and how we do it, but the culture and standard that defines who we are as a Club. The rules and manner in which Rush members hold themselves and how they expect other Rush members to conduct themselves. The Rush Way encourages passion, leadership, respect and, above all, quality. This standard is evident in how the administrative organization is handled, the way our coaches instruct their players, and how our players and parents conduct themselves on and off the field. The Rush Way provides a system that supports the most efficient development of our players from the time they join the Club to the time they graduate.

The Rush Core Values are an integral aspect of our club. They provide the foundation for our culture. Players, coaches, and staff are asked to learn and live the Core Values to help them become better players and better people. They consist of: accountability, advice, empathy, enjoyment, humility, leadership, passion, respect, safety, tenacity and unity. These 11 values form our character on and off the field.

The Rush Way to Play is based upon movement and activity by both player and ball.  Possession-oriented does not fully describe how we play; attack-oriented does.  Whether in possession or in defense, we are attacking. Rush Players play with freedom yet understand the importance of responsibility and the balance between the two. Rush teams are flexible and adapt to varying circumstances. The Rush Way to Play represents both passion and purpose.

Our Club mantra is: “Where the trails of passion and purpose meet, begins the path to victory”
