Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) announced last week that its Board of Governors has voted to suspend the 2012 season to permit the League to focus on the resolution of certain pending legal issues and the challenges that now face the League as a result of its ongoing dispute with a former owner. This is very disappointing for the young female hopefuls wanting to play at the next level.
Players that are now without a team could certainly find a home with a high level of training right here in our back yard. The W-League is the first and longest-standing women’s league in North America, the W-League is the highest level of women’s soccer in the United States and Canada. The 2012 W-League campaign will feature 30 teams in three regional conferences playing 12-14 regular season matches. The W-League features international and professional stars, and elite amateur players have the opportunity to compete in the W-League while maintaining their collegiate eligibility. The league is recognized throughout the world for providing superior competition for female players, while offering affordable family entertainment for fans across North America.
Stay tuned for the 2012 Colorado Rush W-League schedule to be released in the next few weeks.

Colorado Rush W-League Looking Forward to a Bright 2012 Season
November 2011
The Club is very proud of all of the work the W-League players are doing right now, competing and training at the highest levels. Colorado Rush W-League Team players are very busy with their college seasons as well as their youth seasons.
Many of the Rush W-League young talents are currently playing in the ECNL league. Just past the midway point in ECNL conference play, three Rush ECNL Teams are in first place in their respective conferences. The G15 Nike (featuring standout players Betsy Brandon and Jordan Dibiasi – U20 Reserves) are riding an eight game winning streak and have lost just one time this season. Rush has 11-1 record and they are 17 points clear of second place Sereno, although they’ve played three more games. Rush 15’s are 13 points ahead of Real Colorado, having played the same amount of games. The 15’s have scored 40 times this season. Ten different players have notched at least one goal, and Jordan Di Biasi leads the way with 11.
The G17 Nike also sit atop the Mountain Division. Like the 16’s, they too have been shorthanded all season long, but mostly due to National Team call ups. The 17’s have not lost since falling 2-1 to Heat back at the end of August, when six of their players (including Lizzy Raben, Danica Evans, Morgan Stanton, Gabby Miranda – 2011 W-League players) were called into the US Under 17 National Team Camp. Rush is one point clear of Real Colorado, whom they beat 5-3 last month. In 11 games this season, the 17’s have scored 31 goals and have allowed only 8.
The G18 Nike are 8-3 this season and trail first place Real Colorado by just three points. They defeated Real Colorado earlier this season 4-0. In 11 games this season. Twelve different goal scorers have accounted for Rush’s 35 goals. In just 8 games this season, US International and W-League Rookie Player of the Year, Lindsey Horan, has scored 14 times.
The G15-18 Nike teams will travel to Las Vegas the first weekend in December to take on Heat/LV Premier. They will then break until their first National Showcase in San Antonio the last weekend in February.
Colorado Rush W-League Standout Foxhoven Closes out an Outstanding Collegiate Career at Portland
November 2011
On a chilly Saturday night, Danielle capped an outstanding collegiate career by scoring a goal and adding an assist as the University of Portland beat Gonzaga 3-0. It is only fitting that Danielle finishes the way she started. On August 23rd, 2008, in her first collegiate game, she scored the game winner against Oregon. With the goal and assist on Saturday night, Foxhoven ranks fourth all-time at UP in career goals and career points (139). Danielle has led Portland in scoring and points all four years she has played. Her highlight coming in 2009 when she netted 25 goals and 12 assists. Portland finishes the regular season 9-9-1 and 4-4-0 in the WCC.
Colorado Rush W-League Players attend National Camp
October 2011
Five Colorado Rush players are at national team camp in Carson, California this week. The camp includes both the U17 and U18 national teams. On Wednesday night, the two teams matched up against one another and all five players featured in the game. Gabrielle Miranda, Lizzy Raben, Morgan Stanton and Danica Evans all played for the U17 team and Lindsey Horan starred for the 18’s. It was her performance that secured the victory for the older side as Lindsey assisted on one goal by beating her defender, attacking the end line and cutting the ball back for the finish, and then later finishing on her own after getting behind the 17’s defense and beating the keeper one on one. Congratulations to Lindsey Horan and our continued best to each of the girls as they finish out the camp with three more days of training and an inter-squad game on the weekend.
