Michael played 5 years at Creighton University, with Rush Alums Brian Mullan, David Wagenfuhr, Zach Piercy, and Jeremy Shelton, starting in the 2000 National Title game and 2002 Final Four. During his tenure he received MVC 2nd Team Honors and College Soccer News All-American Honors. He was selected for the 2000 Final Four All-Tournament Team followed by his first National Olympic Pool Team in 2001. Michael played one season professionally with the USL Syracuse Salty Dogs before retiring due to injury. He coached three years at the collegiate level with Winthrop University and his alma mater, Creighton, each year making and advancing in the NCAA tournament. In that time, he produced All-Conference and All-American performers in both the Men and Women’s game. Michael received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Minor in Business from Creighton University, while also receiving his MBA from Winthrop University in 2007. He currently holds his NSCAA National License, and has been coaching since the age of 14.
