Alumni continuation...

PDF Print After a two hard pre-alumni week sessions, and 6 great alumni week sessions, some of the most hardcore, classy, respected, awesome, and distinguished Rush Alumni have returned for Alumni continuation week. On day one, the Red team fell behind 3 games to none to the yellow team. It seemed like all was lost until Super-Coach Mike Piserchio, energized by his recent marriage and move to the suburbs, rallied his red team to come back and win 4 straight games to take home the championship trophy. Standout defender Nick Cardenas had this to say about the match: "The lead which seemed insurmountable, was quickly evaporated due to our team exacerbating all efforts to achieve a common goal." Thankfully, Nick's soccer skills are far superior to his vocabulary. It was truly devastating to the Yellow team. Team captain Collen Warner had this to say: "This is a disappointing result for the yellow team. We let our fans down today and i take full responsibility for that." Even after the agony of defeat Warner is still a class act.
Day two had a slightly different turn of events. Warner, this time leading the blue team along side Piserchio came out victorious after winning the 7 game series 4-3. The orange team led by Jeb Brovsky and Danielle Foxhoven lost 4 of the first 6 matches, however they managed to salvage some pride by winning the final match. Blue team midfielder JT Howlan had this to say about about the match: "Today's win is a team victory. Plain and simple. Even when we were defending for long portions of the game we stood together and fought as a team. I am proud to be a part of this Blue team." The Orange team had more possession throughout the match but in the end the dominant play of forward (Tyler) Conley was too much for the Orange team to handle. Orange team Defender Jeb Brovsky had this to say of the blue team forward, "He (Conley) was amazing. He may only be four feet tall in high heels but he plays like a giant." The energy throughout the first two days has been quite amazing. Day 3 promises to be just as exciting as the first two. Will Piserchio get his third straight win? Can any defense figure out a way to stop Conley? Will Zack, Reid, and Lindsey even show up? These are the questions on everyone's mind tonight.
