The Rush Thunder is a part of the Total Outreach Program for Soccer (TOPS). This is a national program for soccer players with special needs. This special needs program was established to promote the game of soccer in a unique segment of our club’s community.
The Thunder will play once a week for eight weeks beginning April 1, 2017, culminating with the always fun Player-Parents games on the seventh week (May 13, 2017) and a tournament with a TOPS Soccer Program on the eighth week (May 20, 2017). Sessions will be held at Grant Park (In Governors Ranch. S. Wadsworth to Belleview Ave., W. ½ mile to Field St., S. ½ mile to Governor James Grant Park-on E. side of Field St. and past elementary school soccer field) from 10:00 am to approximately 11:30 am. (NOTE: New players are asked to come 15 minutes early for their 1st session to get oriented and meet the coaches). Each Saturday session will consist of playing games with our own pool of Rush Thunder players. Players on the Thunder team range in ages from U5 to adult, both boys and girls - all ability levels are welcomed. Both coaches and players within the Colorado Rush Soccer Club are on hand to help instruct, play, and have fun.
The program is free for all its players with only ONE prerequisite for each player…he or she must want to have fun playing the game of soccer.
Any questions about the program, please call Danny Elsner at 720-231-8430 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
NOTES: Special sessions include: April 15th (Easter Egg Hunt), and May 13th (Player-Parent Game), and May 20th (Away Tournament and party with Arvada Edge TOPS team).
Thunder employees a "buddy system" with high school aged Rush players that help in one-on-one situations with our Thunder players and build skills and confidence through a fun atmosphere. We try to have consistent volunteers each week when possible so that each Thunder player has a couple of "buddies" that know each other well. Want to Volunteer? We would love to have you here.
