About The Program

The Rush Thunder is a part of the Total Outreach Program for Soccer (TOPS).  This is a national program for soccer players with special needs.  This special needs program was established to promote the game of soccer in a unique segment of our club’s community.

The Thunder will play once a week for eight weeks beginning March 31st, 2018, with a Player-Parents game on the seventh week (May 12, 2018) and culminating with a tournament with a TOPS Soccer Program on the eighth week (May 19,2018).

Sessions will be held at Grant Park (In Governors Ranch. S. Wadsworth to Belleview Ave., W. ½ mile to Field St., S. ½ mile to Governor James Grant Park-on E. side of Field St. and past elementary school soccer field) from 10:00 am to approximately 11:30 am. (NOTE: New players are asked to come 15 minutes early for their 1st session to get oriented and meet the coaches). Each Saturday session will consist of playing games with our own pool of Rush Thunder players. Players on the Thunder team range in ages from U5 to adult, both boys and girls - all ability levels are welcomed. Both coaches and players within the Colorado Rush Soccer Club are on hand to help instruct, play, and have fun.

The program is free for all its players with only ONE prerequisite for each player…he or she must want to have fun playing the game of soccer.

Any questions about the program, please call Danny Elsner at 720-231-8430 or at

NOTES: Special session include: March 12th (Player-Parents game) and March 19th (Away Tournament and party with Arvada Edge TOPS team).

Possible Colorado Rapids Game
The state program, Colorado TOPSoccer is working on a possible Colorado Rapids game to attend for all of the players in the program including ours.  Please save April 14th at 1pm on your calendar and we will send out more information as it becomes available.  Also, if you are interested to see what the state is doing at any time, you can follow them on Facebook at Colorado TOPSoccer.  You may have to ask to be included, but us coaches are not that great at Facebook (yet).

Rush Fest Training
TOPSoccer is a national program supported by US Soccer, supported by the state at Colorado Soccer Association (CSA), and run by individual clubs like RUSH for local areas like ours.  RUSH has been sponsoring our program for years here in Littleton and have other TOPSoccer Thunder programs throughout the nation, such as the Pikes Peak RUSH program in Colorado Springs.  As coaches, we want to encourage other RUSH clubs throughout the nation do go out and start a local TOPSoccer Thunder program so other kids can enjoy what we have locally here.  Please put on your calendar July 10th (Tuesday evening) as a possible date to help spread the word of Thunder soccer.  RUSH will be holding it's annual RUSH FEST for every RUSH club in the world at the El Pomar Sports Complex in Colorado Springs and during that event on Tuesday night will be running a practice Thunder session to show other clubs what we do.  Last year we had over 100 volunteers from potentially 30 or so clubs but only had about 5 players to share.  We would love to have our players and parents support the growth of Thunder soccer and get many more players down to this one session to play some soccer and get other clubs excited about starting their own program.  Again, mark down July 10th in your calendar and let's see if we can get a good showing there.

Fall Sessions
This is a bit out there, but we want to keep growing our program and make sure we can get as many players out to play.  The fall sessions will be starting September 8thand go through October 29th.  Our 7th session will be the annual tournament with Real Edge at Grant Park at 10am on October 20th. Please get these dates on your calendar and get the word out for players and volunteers!  There is still talk of competing in the CSA tournament October 6th and/or 7th so mark those dates as well and we will get more information when available.

Thunder employees a "buddy system" with high school aged Rush players that help in one-on-one situations with our Thunder players and build skills and confidence through a fun atmosphere. We try to have consistent volunteers each week when possible so that each Thunder player has a couple of "buddies" that know each other well. Want to Volunteer? We would love to have you here.
